I chose the psychoanalytical lens because I am deeply interested in discerning the motivations behind people’s thoughts and actions and appreciate the dichotomy of people’s minds being both complex and simple. I am interested in what triggers different reactions from certain types of people, how people can have similar personalities, and what types personal history instills a person’s values. I think about these things in almost every social interaction I observe or experience.
